Cuckoo Trail
Riding is permitted along parts of the Cuckoo Trail which both follow dis-used railway lines.
The South Downs Way (external link)
Some of the best riding in the country. Ride the whole route from Eastbourne to Winchester, or devise circular rides based along sections of it.
Ashdown Forest (external link)
Wonderful riding but riders must purchase a permit.
Park Wood, Hellingly
Park Wood, Hellingly, is 1.5 miles (2.5km) north of Hailsham in the Wealden District. It has 60 hectares of ancient semi-natural woodland and is a designated Site of Nature Conservation Importance.
Toll Rides
There are also a number of Toll rides (external link) within the district as well as countryside access routes (external link) where you can ride on private land.
