Local Validation Requirements

With the introduction of a standard national planning application form (1APP) on 6th April 2008,  the government is also introducing new information  requirements for the validation of planning applications by local planning authorities.

In addition to the national mandatory validation information required for all applications, the changes to the planning application process does allow Local Planning Authorities to request further information via  “Local Lists”. The guidance notes issued by the Department of Communities and Local Government in December 2007, entitled "The Validation of Planning Applications - Guidance for local planning authorities" suggested a recommended process for the determination of these requirements including a six week consultation period on local lists.

Wealden District Council has drawn up its Local Validation List, details of which can be found below and the period for consultation is from Monday, 21st January until Friday, 29th February 2008.

We welcome comments on this list and a feedback form is available below  to download and complete, preferably electronically and this should be emailed back to planning@wealden.gov.uk before the due date. Alternatively, this form can be returned by post to:-
