Am I eligible for the grant?

You can apply for the grant if you:

East Sussex County Council have limited funds from the government to spend on handyperson services until the end of March 2011. They cannot pay out more than £200 to any household.

How do I apply?

If you are eligible for the grant, print and complete the Handyperson grant application form then post it back to East Sussex County Council.

East Sussex County Council will check your application and, if it is approved, send you a cheque. (Please let us know if it is difficult for you to pay in a cheque.)

You can then use this money to hire a handyperson. East Sussex County Council may contact you afterwards to find out how you got on.

How much money should I apply for?

You can apply for up to £200 in a two year period.

It is helpful to get a written quote for the work but you do not need to send this to us. You should not pay out any money before you receive a cheque from East Sussex County Council.
