Statement of Accounts
After the end of each financial year, the Council has to publish a formal set of accounts. This includes:
- an explanatory forward
- a statement of its income and expenditure for the year
- a statement showing the value of its assets at the end of the year
- a statement showing the movement in its cash balances
The 2007/08 Statement of Accounts has been compiled in accordance with the Local Authority Accounting Code of Practice. It was approved by councillors on 27th June 2008. This was subject to an external audit to confirm that the figures fairly present the financial position of the Council. PKF(UK)LLP, have completed the audit of the accounts and has issued an unqualified opinion on the Statement of Accounts on 30th September 2008.
