When/How to Pay Your Council Tax or Non-domestic Rates
When to Pay
- For a full financial year by 10 monthly instalments due by 15th day of each month from April to January inclusive.
- Bills
issued after 1st April will have their monthly
instalments calculated by the number of months left in the
financial year less one.
- By a single payment by the 15th April.
- Twice
yearly
with a sum equal to five monthly instalments by the 15th
April with the balance by 15th September.
Methods of payment
There are a number of different methods of payment available for you to choose from. We would prefer you to use one of the electronic methods set out below as they are safer, more secure and very efficient.
How do I pay electronically ?
Direct Debit
A convenient and inexpensive method of making payments via your bank. Follow this link for a downloadable form.
Your Bank's Internet Banking service
Making payments by visiting your bank's web site.
Your Bank's Telephone Banking Service
Instructing your bank to make payments by telephone.
The Council's Telephone Payment system
Debit/Credit card payments can be made using the Council's 24 hour telephone system (for Credit card payments a 1.5% transaction charge will apply).
The Council's Internet Payment system
Debit/Credit card payments can be made securely online by following the links on this web site (for Credit card payments a 1.5% transaction charge will apply).
